This is a step-by-step walkthrough for Harvard Business School’s MBA application. It will take you through every core stage of the application process using detailed instructions, example essays, and insider tips.
Course Objectives
As we walk through the application process, you will:
- Share your goals in HBS’s short post-MBA goals essay
- Demonstrate your business acumen and explain your career choices in the “Business-Minded” essay
- Describe how you lead and invest in others in the “Leadership-Focused” essay
- Show off your curious learner’s mindset in the “Growth-Oriented” essay
- Submit an application to get admitted to the Harvard Business School MBA
Pre-Requisites
Before starting this school course, you should complete the following courses:
School Strategy
HBS asks 3 core essays linked to the 3 main characteristics they look for in students: Business-minded, Leadership-focused, and Growth-oriented. In short, HBS is looking for individuals who display business acumen, show leadership impact both at and outside work, and who can engage with the world in creative, meaningful ways. We’ll discuss these in detail in the course.
As for the rest of the application, HBS requires no other videos, Kira Talent, or organization charts. If you are invited for an interview, you can expect a 1-on-1 interview with an Admissions Committee member.
